FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Registered Office Service FAQs
What is a Registered Office?
A registered office is the official address recorded with Companies House for a company. It is used for formal company correspondence and must meet the applicable address requirements.
What is a Service Address?
A service address is the official correspondence address for company directors, company secretaries and shareholders. It is where they will receive their official government mail. A service address is a legal requirement and the address details are displayed on the public record at Companies House.
What is a Virtual Office?
A Virtual Office provides a professional business address and may include general business mail-handling services. It is different from a registered office service, so check which services are included in your chosen plan.
What is the difference between a Registered Office and a Director Service Address?
A registered office is the official address of the company. A director's service address is used for correspondence addressed to an individual director. These addresses may be the same or different.
What letters can I receive with your registered office service?
The service is intended for eligible official company correspondence, such as letters from Companies House and HMRC, subject to the service terms.
What if I want you to accept all the letters for my company?
Please check whether your required mail types are covered by this service. General business correspondence may require a Virtual Office service.
I am the Director of the company. Can I use your address to hide my residential address?
You may be able to use an appropriate registered office or director's service address instead of your home address on the public register. Your residential address must still be provided to Companies House where legally required.
Do you accept parcels on my behalf?
Parcels are not included unless expressly confirmed in the service terms. Please contact us before purchasing if you need parcel handling.
I am a Sole Trader. Can I use your Registered Office and Director Service address?
Registered office and director service address requirements generally apply to registered companies and their officers. If you are a sole trader, contact us to discuss whether our Virtual Office service is suitable.
How will I know when my company receives mail?
Mail notification and handling depend on the features included in the service. Please check the service terms for details about notifications, scanning and forwarding.
What are your handling charges?
The annual subscription is £39.99. Any additional postage or handling charges will depend on the service terms and any extra services requested.
Would a signature be required to collect the post forwarded by you?
Signature requirements depend on the postal service used and the type of item being sent.
Can I have more than one company use your registered office service?
Each company must have its own appropriate registered office arrangement. A separate subscription may be required for each company.
